Your hosts are Lis Pedersen, Chris Bennett and Tia. Lis and Chris “discovered” New Zealand in the early 1980′s and love their adopted country with a passion. Lis carries a Danish passport and grew up all over the world. Chris is Canadian by birth – and has spent his career working in many developing countries. Our shared joy is the outdoors – which is why we love living in the Nelson region.
Lis is originally a cardiac rehabilitation nurse and continues her interest in healthy lifestyle choices. Her hobbies include silk painting, cooking and baking, growing food organically and spending time in the outdoors while hiking, cycling, kayaking and gardening.
Chris is a highway engineer with the World Bank building transport infrastructure in developing countries. In his spare time he rides his bike and races triathlons. He has completed an Ironman triathlon on every continent and finished the 4,418 km Tour Divide mountain bike race in 2013. Chris’ 2014 race is a self supported road bike race from London to Istanbul. Chris is also the geek in the family.
Tia is our much adored fluffy. She’s been with us through thick and thin for the past 17 (!) years and thankfully is showing no signs of slowing down. Provided you are a tummy scratcher she will be a very attentive host.
